Premier League Enterprise Challenge
Four Barking Abbey students from Year 8 are now representing West Ham in the Premier League Enterprise Challenge against another six Premier League clubs at the Play Off Six in Brighton in January.
The students had to come up with a business model to get more young people to take up season tickets in football clubs. The team came up with an idea based around a competition promoted by social media. The judges thought Barking Abbey stood out for their idea as well as their personality, manners and characters which shone through to beat the other 9 schools presentations.
The competition took place in the Chairman’s Suite, and the students had the good fortune of meeting players from the first team squad.
The competition was judged by Marlon Harewood, ex Premiership club player and entrepreneur, Mark Kass, CEO enterprise4good, and a representative from West Ham marketing dept.
