Barking Abbey Basketball Academy capped off a dominant season in style, securing the 2026 WNBL Division 2 Playoff Championship with an emphatic 83–54 victory over East London Phoenix.

From the opening tip, Barking Abbey asserted themselves as the team to beat, showcasing the same high-energy, disciplined style that saw them lead the division throughout the season. Their depth and cohesion were on full display in the final as they controlled the tempo and pulled away convincingly to lift the title.

Leading the charge was Sharliyah Sutherland, who delivered an outstanding performance to earn Finals MVP honors. She finished with 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, setting the tone on both ends of the floor. She was well supported by Sytira Smith, who added 13 points in a strong all-around team effort.

The victory underlines what has been a hugely successful 2025/26 campaign for Barking Abbey, with the program continuing to produce results across all levels.
