Abbey Boys Football Academy advance into another cup final

Team Abbey had to fight hard in the semi-final of the Coomer cup against a strong Seevic Storm side in what was our second semi-final match of the season.

Amir Icare equalised for Abbey in the first half before Seevic took the lead again. Abbey left it late with just two minutes left Peter Angelov managed to wriggle clear of his marker and send the tie into Extra Time. It was again the quality of Angelov that was to prove to be the decisive moment of the match, when with 1 minute of extra time remaining and the dreaded penalty shootout looming, Angelov pounced with a fantastic right footed volley from the edge of the Seevic box to snatch a hard-fought win and put Abbey into another final and help keep the dream alive of a Team Abbey Quadruple! 

Next up Abbey play in the Quarter final of the Elite National U18 Super Cup at home on Friday 18th March against Varndean college from Brighton it is a 1.30pm KO. It would be great to have some support, so do please do pop over if anyone is free!
