Barking Abbey Boys Football Academy playing as Alliance club Barking Whites FC will finish half-term as league leaders of the National U19 Alliance Division C. After initially climbing to 2nd spot Abbey boys played the current league leaders Borehamwood FC in a juicy tie of 1st v 2nd! Borehamwood FC started strongly forcing a fine reaction save from McEvoy in the Barking goal. As the game begun to develop Barking started to dominant possession. This possession finally lead to many chances being created, David Nwamadi was played in behind the Borehamwood FC defence, before seeing his shot saved well by the Borehamwood FC keeper. It was indeed the Borehamwood Keeper that went onto deny Adrijus Lapacinskas and Peter Angelov with smart saves to keep the score 0-0 at the interval.
Barking came out the strongest in the second half and continued to show their dominance.
It was in the 68 minute that a fantastic 60 yard diagonal pass from Jack Turner found the run of Nwamadi who Expertly crossed the ball first time for Top scorer Mekhi Stanford- Clarke to slide home from 7 yards. Barking had one finally scare when an uncharacteristic mistake by Michael Ogunoye played a loose ball back to Jack Turner which allowed the Borehamwood FC striker to bear down on our goal but fortunately his snap shot flashed wide of the back post!
