Double Victory in Essex Competitions

On Monday 22nd April the Barking Abbey Netball Academy finished the season on a double win with both teams becoming Champions in the Essex Schools Cup and Essex Schools Plate.

The Barking Abbey 1st team delivered an outstanding performance against FitzWimarc School in the finals. Every squad member contributed on the court, demonstrating exceptional grit and determination. The Year 13 players, despite having just completed an afternoon exam, exemplified dedication and served as exemplary role models for the Year 12 players. Their hard work and teamwork marked a fitting end to a long and demanding season.

Similarly, the 2nd team excelled in the Essex Plate final against St Marks School. Though the match seemed to be a nail biting performance to start with, the girls quickly found their rhythm, taking and maintaining the lead. Their focus and mutual encouragement propelled them to victory, solidifying their status as champions.

This remarkable day saw both Barking Abbey teams in the finals and emerging as Essex Schools Champions, a testament to their hard work and sportsmanship.
