  • Barking Abbey Boys Football Academy seal a historic treble

    Just before our Half-term break Barking Abbey Boys Football Academy attempted to win a historic treble as they played their second final of the year against Sigma Football Academy to add the Essex U18s Jeff Saxton School and Colleges trophy to their ESFA National Super cup trophy and the National Alliance U19 youth league winner’s medal. The final was held at National South’s Aveley FC. Abbey took the lead early when Kien Connelly met a Ryan Osunde Corner to finish clinically. Sigma responded after the interval and equalised from the penalty spot.

  • Double National Champions

    On Wednesday 8th May Barking Abbey Football Academy made history by being crowned National Champions in both the girls and boys English Schools FA Super Cup! The boys played Hartpury College and won 1-0. The girls played Thomas Telford School and went from 0-2 down to take it to 2-2 and then won on penalties! A fantastic achievement for our Football Academy coaches and players.

  • Football Academy shine in ESFA Super Cup

    Abbey Boys and Girls have been busy competing in the latter stages of the ESFA Super Cup league this term. The boys have progressed nicely winning their last 16 match 5-1 against Ravenswood School before also winning their Quarter final match 2-1 against Gordon’s School to progress to the Semi-Finals. The Semi-final match will take place on Monday, 18th March at 3.30pm and will be played at Longbridge 4G astro against a strong Bradfield College, any Support welcome! The Girls have also performed brilliantly to make the English Schools Football Association Super Cup Final!

  • Abbey Boys bow out of the FA Youth Cup after giving young Lions a real fight

    Full time Millwall 3- 3 Barking AET Millwall 5-3 Barking Partnership club Barking FC produced an incredible performance in the third round of the FA youth cup away to Millwall. Barking FC are 7 division below counterparts Millwall FC but showed great courage to take on the Lions in the Den. Barking demonstrated great resilience to stay in the contest and it was in the second half that Barking rolled the dice and took the game to Millwall. The introduction of sub-Finlay Dorrell spurred Barking on when his first contribution provided Addae with the pass that led to Barking's first penalty.

  • Abbey players shine in Fantastic FA Youth Cup run

    Wednesday 15th November FA Youth Cup 2nd Round Barking 1-0 MK Dons The Abbey boys have had an unbelievable FA Youth Cup run which had led to them being rewarded with a home tie against MK Dons, who are a Category 3 professional academy. The boys knew they would be up against it, but they were up for the challenge. MK Dons saw a lively start to the fixture, which was shown through their passion displayed during the opening minutes of the match. Whilst dominant on the ball, the travelling team were patient in their approach to find an opening within what was a resilient Barking defence.

  • Barking Abbey Boys - September - October 2023

    Barking Abbey boys football academy have had a strong start to the season after a intense and enjoyable preseason by being undefeated in 13 games with 12 wins and a draw throughout all competitions, all players have stepped up to the high standard demanded of them when asked and there have been some good team and individual performances. The FA Youth Cup has been a real highlight so far as the boys sailed through 4 qualifying rounds to secure their place in the 1st Round Proper which is a tie away to Kingstonian FC. During this cup run they have scored 18 goals and conceded 2. Barking Whites (partnership club Barking FC) in the National Alliance League have started strong and accumulated 3 wins and 1 draw from their first 4 league games in which they are aiming to retain the league title.

    Abbey U21’s Women have started the season strongly and are unbeaten so far with 5 wins and 2 draws in all competitions, scoring 22 goals and conceding 5. Currently sitting 2nd in the league and sit top of their group, having already qualified to the knockout stages of the cup, Abbey are looking forward to a busy period leading up to Christmas. Coach Mike Lowne had this to say on the team’s good start to the season, ‘The girls have started the season well and I am looking forward to seeing them improve as we go on. There is a great team spirit, they are a competitive group that work hard to improve and have good personalities.

  • National Alliance U19 Youth League Division E Champions

    Barking Abbey Boys Football Academy were crowned National Alliance U19 Youth League Division E Champions after a last game shoot out against National league rivals Eastleigh Town. Abbey took on their title contenders at home in the last game of the season with both teams on 58 points! Abbey had to beat Eastleigh as a draw would have been insufficient as Eastleigh had a superior goal difference. Abbey started brightly and demonstrated a desire to take the game to Eastleigh.
